A Very Venice Romance
Amy Bellefarr is an executive in product development for New York-based Blossom, a health and wellness company. Her latest assignment has her overseeing the development of healthy meal kits using their developed nutritional supplements. Even with French chef Jean Paul on board as the recipe developer, the problem is is that the food just does not taste very good using the supplements, which are a given. With Jean Paul quitting in frustration, Amy has to go on a search for another chef to develop the recipes. Her chef of choice is Marcello Favero, who recently and mysteriously left an executive chef position in town to return to his hometown of Venice. Unable to convince him to the job in a cold call, Amy figures the best way to approach him is to go to Venice and sign up for his cooking class, giving her a maximum of three weeks to change his mind. In person, they start off butting heads in her "I won't take no for an answer" attitude, and in their differing opinions of what constitutes healthy food. She finds convincing him even more difficult when she learns the personal reason he left New York. As Marcello takes her and her three fellow classmates on a cultural and culinary tour of Venice and its environs over the three weeks, Marcello and Amy start to fall for each other. While outwardly their attraction may provide them with more incentive to make the job work, the job may be the obstacle in them getting together at all, especially with Amy's boss Naomi involved, she who likes to think of herself as zen to match the company brand, but who is less than so in her controlling nature.
