Beautifully Unlayered
The short film "Beautifully Unlayered" takes place in the USA. Angela has breakfast in bed, brought to her by Brandon, a handsome man with whom she had intimate relationships the night before. She is thankful for breakfast but doesn't eat much. Instead, she asks Branden to leave because she needs to go to work. He seems hurt, but Angela seems distant and uncomfortable with the interaction. On Angela's way to a therapy session, she talks to her sister about issues pertaining to her mental health status. When Angela meets Dr. Peterson, her therapist, he attempts to persuade her to open up. He uses hypnotherapy, but it doesn't seem to work. After Angela leaves, she talks to her sister again; she tells her she knows therapy wouldn't work. Nevertheless, they spend the rest of the evening together. Angela goes to work as a therapist. Her first client is Lexis, a young girl unhappy because of attachment issues. - she doesn't want her mother to go to work and leave her alone with her father, who is often angry with her. Her second client is Nicole, a teenager who likes older men, sometimes as much as ten years older than her, because they make her feel wanted. In contrast, she usually feels unattractive and undesirable. Her last client is Valerie, a woman In her late 20's who regrets her number of abortions.
