Cry of the Hunted
Lt. Tunner is in charge of the maximum-security section of Bradville State Penitentiary in the Los Angeles area. He is tasked with forcing one prisoner, Jory, to talk and give the names of his associates in the bank robbery that has put him behind bars. So far Jory has said nothing except that he was the poorly-paid getaway driver. Acting upon an opportunity, Jory is able to escape, the correct belief by Tunner being that he headed "home" to Chatsburg Parish in the Louisiana bayou country to reunite with his wife. Tunner not only has Jory to contend with, but other inherent hazards of the unfamiliar swamps including the locals who will protect their own. What happens between the two men could be affected by their admiration and respect for each other, Tunner's arguably more than he has for those on "his side", including his golf-obsessed boss, Bradville's Warden Keeley, Chatsburg's somewhat lethargic Sheriff Brown, and Tunner's underling Sgt. Goodwin, who is openly waiting for Tunner to make a mistake so that Goodwin can have his job. Written by Huggo
